Theme Leader
Revd Tim Meadows
Raised in the Alleghany Mountain region of Virginia, USA, in a strict religious
background with Brethren and Reformed Presbyterian roots. Tim came to the
UK through a partnership between the URC and the United Church of Christ.
He moved to Liverpool City Centre in 2010 to build an ecumenical centre and
accepted a call in 2014 to serve Allerton United Reformed Church and St
Stephen’s Wavertree URC, forming the Heart of Liverpool Pastorate, where
he’s currently still in post.
He served on the Mersey Synod Executive and Ministries Committee, and acted as an ecumenical
representative to the Church of England. He was inducted as Moderator of URC General Assembly
for 2024-25 period where his moderatorial theme emphasised the church as a ‘safe harbour in a
stormy sea,’ promoting ecumenism and refocusing on a Jesus-centered community.
worship Leader
Revd Alistair Smeaton
Alistair will make his return as our worship leader in 2027. He has been a
regular at Holiday Forum since he first led worship in 2007. Our theme
leader that year was Sheila Maxey, for whom Alistair had served as chaplain
when she was moderator of URC General Assembly in 2004.
Alistair is currently one of the ministers in the Cumbria Missional Partnership.
He works with URC congregations and LEPs across the county always in
close partnership with other Christian traditions.

The hayes
We meet at The Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick, Derbyshire. The Centre has been beautifully renovated with all the rooms now en suite. Enjoy the beautiful grounds and recreation facilities, and the Peak District, which is right on your doorstep.
